Case Study
Turning a Menu Into an Operating System for Service
Dainu Gardumi - Pludmales Grils needed more than a digital version of a printed menu. The product had to support the way service actually happens: between guests, waiters, the kitchen, the bar and the two cafe locations.
The work began with the menu and web experience. We designed and implemented a clearer digital structure so guests and staff could understand the offer quickly, while the website and menu stayed synchronized instead of becoming separate sources of information.
The electronic menu was then extended into the daily service workflow. Waiters could use tablets as part of the ordering process, reducing the need to manually translate guest choices into kitchen or bar communication.
A central part of the solution was operational communication. Orders and service information could move electronically to the kitchen and bar, helping the team coordinate work with fewer unnecessary handovers.
The system also supported automatic printing of non-fiscal pre-checks, making the pre-payment workflow more consistent and reducing repetitive manual steps during busy service periods.
The experience was tested in communication with staff, because the quality of a restaurant system depends on whether it works in real service conditions. The result was a more connected operating flow across menu, website, waiters, kitchen and bar.
